Precision Dental Lab offers Bay County’s first dental appliances in years

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Since Hurricane Michael, Bay County, and surrounding areas have faced a significant gap in dental services, with the nearest labs as far away as Tampa or Georgia.

This often meant waiting several weeks for dental appliances like dentures or crowns. porcelain material in dentistry

However, with the opening of Precision Dental Lab in Panama City, patients can now expect quicker turnaround times—often less than a week. “A lot of the dentist offices have been turning away removable cases, have been turning away partials, been turning away dentures, because it just takes so long to get here and it’s really hard to fix, so now offices are going to offer those and are going to be able to get them quicker,” said Tara Roy, Precision Dental Lab’s owner.

The lab offers various services, including veneers, dentures, repairs, crowns, bridges, and partials. They also provide same-day custom shading and repairs for patients needing immediate attention.

“I think it’s going to be great now that people can go to their dentists’ office and if their dentures or partials is all messed up that they don’t have to wait two to three weeks to send it back, we can do it in less than a week depending on what it is,” said Collin Smoots, Dental Technician at Precision Dental Lab.

This new resource means local dentists can now serve more patients promptly without having to turn them away due to a lack of lab access.

The family-owned business says it’s excited to bring smiles back to community members and plans to expand its services to Santa Rosa and Destin.

“That’s all I wanted out of my life, that’s all I wanted in my career, it’s to help people... to help the people that I see walking around every day it’s amazing,” said Roy.
